A little about me...

They say the eyes are the window to the soul, but for me, it’s also the whiskers, the wet noses, and the wagging tails that tell the real story.... My name is Stacey, I'm a wife and Mum of Two living in Whitstable, Kent and I am the Artist behind Shadows & Whiskers. Since I was very young, I have been fascinated by the silent language of animals. I learnt early on that the bond we share with them is unspoken but profound. As my artistic skills have developed, I have realized I want to do more than just draw—I want to translate that bond onto paper. Shadows & Whiskers was born from a desire to celebrate the light our pets bring into our lives. Whether it is capturing the playfulness in their posture or the loyalty in their gaze, I pour my heart into every piece, ensuring that your pet’s legacy is preserved in a work of art you can cherish forever.

"Would highly recommend shadows and whiskers to everyone who is looking for a portrait to be drawn of their animals. From start to finish the process and communication was excellent. The quality of work is like no other, the accuracy and attention to detail is phenomenal. I brought this as a gift for my partner who was blown away by the picture of her dog Rory" ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gemma

“Honestly brought a tear to my eye seeing the pet portrait of my bulldog boo boo for the first time. Stacey has captured her to a t. I can almost hear her snuffling her way through the drawing. The likeness is uncanny and I put her straight on the wall. She was super speedy with delivery too. I feel honored to have been an early customer.” Dionne

"We are lucky enough to be Stacey's neighbours and Bruce and Missy we're her 1st portraits as Christmas presents. We were so made up with these as she really has captured their personalites in the sketch. We were so impressed we have had her do Nova and Boss (our cats) and we are getting portraits of our families pets for them as they really are amazing and lifelike ❤️❤️" Ian

Frequently Asked Questions

I use a mixed dry media approach to create vibrant, textured artworks, (Charcoal, chalk, pencil and pen).

Typically, it can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks to do a portrait depending on the complexity of the portrait. This also depends on the amount of commissions I have as I work alone as the sole artist but I would let you know the estimated time upon accepting your order, especially if it's a gift you need for a certain date.

Yes you can! Simply message me and send over your photos so I can check the quality is sufficient enough, I'm currently charging £70 for the 2 Pet Multiple Portrait. If you have more than 2 you'd like to have in a portrait simply send me a message to discuss.

I take great care to ensure satisfaction; however, custom portraits are non-refundable unless I feel I'm unable to provide the service to the best of my ability, this is normally due to the photograph not being detailed enough for me to work from but this will be discussed before any payment is taken and should I be unable to complete your order for reasons out of my control then of course a full refund would be given.
